Effect of Agricultural Medium on the Qualitative Characteristics of Two Hybrids of Lettuce (Lactuca Sativa L.) in Hydroponics System

Abstract This study aimed to determine the most effective agricultural medium used in growth and yield of lettuce a hydroponics system under plastic house protected structure. Specifically, know effect using different such as peat moss, perlite moss + on two hybrids lettuce. The experiment was conducted from 16 November 2020 21 January 2021 at Nursery Directorate Agriculture Kirkuk / governate. research factors, first factor is viz., perlite. Second Two viz, Fajer Nader. laid out according Randomized Complete Blocking Design (RCBD) with split plot arrangement three replicates. Duncan Multiple Range test 5% level probability for comparison among means. Results showed that planted had greatest content middle internal leaves chlorophyll. And proportion phosphorous, potassium, iron, nitrate pigment Beta-carotene, percentage density refractive index oil leaves. data collected revealed hybrid recorded significant increment all studied characteristics except external chlorophyll nitrogen, protein sugars obtained maximum values compared other treatments. On contrast, Nader minimum these characteristics.
